6 Style Strategies I Teach Clients

Looking polished doesn't have to mean suffering through the heat or constantly worrying about wardrobe malfunctions. Through working with clients, I've identified the game-changing style strategies that actually work in real life, not just on Pinterest boards.

Choose Colors That Work With You

Color Analysis helps create a more cohesive and versatile wardrobe while enhancing overall appearance by emphasizing natural features such as skin tone, eye color, and hair color. Gray is the worst color for hot weather or presentations because it shows every drop of moisture, regardless of the fabric’s quality. Instead, opt for pastels like light pink and mint green. These colors are forgiving and help you look fresh, even when you're not feeling your best.

Strategize Your Style

Look, we're all adults here; underarm protection is essential. Consider investing in quality armpit pads for high-stakes meetings and always carry a travel-size antiperspirant. It's not glamorous, but neither is worrying about sweat stains during your presentation. Line your blazers, light colored tops, or those poly-blend materials with them.

But protection goes beyond just sweat. Wardrobe emergencies don't care about your schedule, and they happen to everyone. That's why I created the Little Black Bag.

The Little Black Bag is your cheat code to effortless style and that always put-together energy my clients are known for. Inside: boob tape, a pre-threaded sewing needle, stain remover wipes, extra earring backs, a lint remover brush, and a measuring tape. Basically, all the tiny things that save you from big fashion regrets.

It fits neatly in your purse or glovebox, and it’s come to the rescue more times than I can count, from coffee spills at business lunches to popped buttons at the airport.

Layer Smart

Heavy blazers in summer are a trap. I always tell my clients to invest in lightweight cardigans instead. They give you the same professional polish, but you can carry them without feeling like you're hauling around a winter coat. Plus, they're perfect for over-air-conditioned spaces.

These pieces deliver the same professional polish as a traditional blazer, but with far more flexibility. You can carry them easily, layer them effortlessly, and wear them across seasons without feeling like you’re wrapped in a wool straightjacket.

Invest in What Serves You

Your Go-To Blazer Look for cotton-linen blends or lightweight merino wool. This is the piece you'll reach for when you need to feel unstoppable. It's worth spending more on something that serves you.

Core Tops Cotton voile, bamboo blends, seersucker, anything that moves with you instead of against you. These should feel good against your skin from the moment you put them on.

Foundation Pieces Ponte knits with moisture-wicking properties, structured cottons that have some give. When you find pieces that work, buy them in multiple colors because you'll wear them on repeat.

Shop Like You Mean It

Feel the fabric before you buy it. If it feels stiff or plasticky in the store, it's going to be worse on your body. Trust your instincts if something doesn't feel right in the dressing room; it won't magically get better at home.

Check labels for natural fiber content above 50%. And yes, quality breathable fabrics cost more upfront, but think about it this way: that uncomfortable piece you never wear? That's expensive. The comfortable one you reach for every week? That's an investment.

More options for men here.

Your Comfort is a Power Move

You shouldn't have to choose between looking professional and feeling human. Your wardrobe should support your success, not sabotage it. When your clothes work with your body instead of against it, you can focus on what matters: being the boss you already are.

You're already managing enough. Your outfit shouldn't be one more thing on that list.
